Rights Awards

The Commission provides a headnote and summary service with respect to rights, duty of fair representation, and Section 40 awards to assist parties in carrying out their research. The summaries, headnotes and classification scheme are prepared by Elaine B. Willis.

Rights Awards Database – A rights dispute involves the interpretation, application, administration, or alleged violation of an existing collective agreement or award.

Duty of Fair Representation Awards Database – Individual officers grieving a breach of duty of fair representation against a Police Association.

Section 40 Awards Database – Severance issues arising from the abolition of reduction of a police force.

Interest Awards

Interest awards are available and can be viewed in their entirely from 1989 to present.

Interest Database – An interest dispute involves settling the terms of a new collective agreement.

This specialized publication of awards, decisions and summaries is available in English only according to Regulation 671/92 which exempts it from translation under the French Language Services Act.
